Jun Kubota (久保田 潤, Kubota Jun) is a wrestler with vast amounts of strength who once participated in the Olympics while in high school. However, she was ejected from the games due to repeated unsportsmanlike conduct. She later joins the V.G. competitions because she can treat her opponents as roughly as she pleases. Despite this however, Jun operates by her own personal honor code. She fiercely believes that the use of weaponry in an unarmed bout is unacceptable.
Biography
V.G. Veteran and once a former Olympic wrestler, Jun is as tough as iron and will submit or crush those who stand in her way. She can make anyone feel the RAW power of her devastating maneuvers, slams, and throws into total unconsciousness. Whatever they do, they shouldn't be close to her or they will be sent sky high into the Kubota Buster! She also rides her motorcycle and loves to drink lots and lots of beer.
Even though Jun is tough as nails, she has some soft spots. She is obsessed with very cute stuffed animals, so obsessed that she often has nightmares of Yuka who will one day steal her entire collection of stuffed animal goods for herself. She is also very interested in the "Neko Gloves", which Manami gladly lets Jun borrow.
She is Yuka's first opponent, like in the OVA, and she demonstrates her power to Yuka by twisting a dumbbell into a sort of knot. Jun seemed to be too much for Yuka in their first encounter. If it weren't for Satomi, Yuka would have had a painful and humiliating lose. After Yuka's victory, Jun warned her about the dangers of V.G. by exposing herself in front of the crowd as an example. Jun became a trustworthy and powerful ally to her later on.
In Advanced Variable Geo 2, Jun is actually tag teaming with Erina to take on both Yuka and Tamao. When Jun and Yuka were matched, Yuka just stood there in an unstable and powerless position. Both Jun and Erina don't know what is going on with her. This made Tamao angry, to the point that she beat the two singlehandedly.
Jun also has a bad feud with Erina as she has a real problem with "gaijin", in which she is frustrated around foreigners. After many relentless fights between the two, the hate between the two seemed to soften up. This was shown when Erina introduced her grandmother to Jun.
Jun has made a bright future for herself by attending to a University in the United States. Between the events of AVG and AVG2, she had focused her major in astrophysics and fluid mechanics and Jun dreams of becoming an astronaut.
Special Attacks
- Earth Shaker: Jun punches the ground, creating an energy geyser.
- Kubota Sway: Jun stands in place and sways, avoiding any attack.
- Kubota Buster: Jun perfoms a jumping backbreaker on her opponent.
- Kubota Lariat: Jun rushes in, performing a lariat that knocks down the opponent.
- Kubota Shuttle: A powered-up Kubota Lariat.
- Kubota Special: Jun grabs her opponent, performing two German Suplexes, followed by a Kubota Buster.
Etymology
- The name Jun means "moisture" (潤).
- Jun's surname Kubota means "long time" (久) (ku), "protect/protection, maintain, guarantee" (保) (ho/bo) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta).
Trivia
Her restaurant, Ska Lark (Sukaraku), consists of both a gym and a place to dine. The gym is on the first floor while the meals on the second. In the middle of the restaurant is the wrestling ring, where most of the fights take place.
Ska lark is based off the Japanese restaurant "Skylark".
